CHELSEA 0-2 SOUTHAMPTON

CHELSEA 0-2 SOUTHAMPTON

PAIN GAME
It's another frustrating afternoon at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea...

Chelsea pushes forwards but still struggling to break Southampton down. McCarthy charges off his line to claim a high ball from Tomori!

SUB! Chelsea uses a break in play to replace Willian with Pedro.
Here's how Redmond celebrated that huge second goal for Southampton...

GOAL! CHELSEA 0-2 SOUTHAMPTON (Redmond, 72)
Oh wow! Another breakaway from goal from Southampton! They may have just won this game! It's Redmond who takes the chance, scooping a close-range finish over Kepa after Kante had accidentally guided it into his path! Slick build-up from Southampton, who have been utterly ruthless!

Will Southampton regret that missed chance from Redmond?

YELLOWS! Bookings for Kante and Tomori in quick succession! Chelsea's frustration growing.
Still Frank Lampard's Chelsea search for an equalizer. Still, Southampton continues to shut them out...

CLOSE! Chelsea take the corner short and Hudson-Odoi curls a right-footed shot onto the roof of the net from 20 yards out! McCarthy was scrambling but Southampton survives.

CHANCE! So on the brink of a Southampton second! Redmond skips faraway from Rudiger on the left. He fires it across goal but Tomori gets a toe to the ball, diverting it out for a corner with Che Adams lurking menacingly behind him. an important intervention from him! What an open start to the half.

CHANCE! Almost an immediate equalizer for Chelsea! Mount makes an instant impact, finding Abraham inside the Southampton box, but the striker blasts his effort into the side netting from a diagonal angle.

TROUBLE FOR CHELSEA
They've lost two of their last three in the Premier League on their own patch and they're trailing again at Stamford Bridge at half-time this afternoon. Can Chelsea turn it around?

Michael Obafemi is the first player born in the 21st century to score a @premierleague goal against Chelsea

HT: that is the half. Chelsea has dominated the ball but they need being poor within the final third. Southampton, on the opposite hand, is ruthless. Obafemi took his goal superbly and Southampton has defended alright either side of it. tons of labor to try to for Lampard's men after the break. they'll be certain a half-time rollicking.

No way through for Chelsea against Southampton so far...

SAVE! Azpilicueta flicks the corner on at the near post but McCarthy gets a hand to it!

"What a goal this is!
"Chelsea gives it away really cheaply but he does well, goes in on his left foot and curls it into the top corner."

GOAL! CHELSEA 0-1 SOUTHAMPTON (Obafemi, 31)
The visitors take the lead with their first shot on target and it is a superb finish from the youngster Michael Obafemi, who curls it home from the edge of the Chelsea box! It came from a swift Saints counter-attack after Hudson-Odoi had been robbed of possession right in front of Frank Lampard in the home side's technical area!
Who needs Danny Ings?! Obafemi took it brilliantly.
